Who We Are

Alamance Life Works (ALW) EAP P LLC’ CEO and Clinical Director is Gary B. Bailey. Dr. Bailey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with Certifications in Emotional Intelligence (EQi 2.0) and Employee Assistance. Building on master’s degrees in Social Work and Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill and North Central University respectively, Dr. Bailey has a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A & T University. His extensive research is on Emotional Intelligence and Transformational Leadership to Job Satisfaction. For more than 30 years, Dr. Bailey has treated individuals with complex trauma utilizing eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), as well as couples, and families. Finally, Dr. Bailey has participated in national training of other healthcare professionals in health-service program planning, design, and leadership.

Unlike many other EAP providers, Alamance Life Works (ALW) EAP PLLC is a certified EAP vendor through the State of North Carolina as a certified North Carolina Historically Underutilized Business (HUB). Alamance Life Works (ALW) EAP PLLC brings a diverse perspective to solve the challenges of today’s complex diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in the workplace.

OUR CLINICIANS

Garry Wiley (LCSW)

Asking for help and support can take a great deal of strength. The therapeutic partnership is a relationship built on reciprocity while reinforcing shared responsibility, accountability, and decision-making.

My name is Garry Wiley Jr. and I have 20-plus years working in the behavioral health field. I received my BFA from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2004 and my MSW from Western New Mexico University in 2019.  I have experience working with the following populations: youth, adults, (IDD) Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Substance Abuse. As a therapist, my focus is utilizing a person-centered approach that encourages each individual to be the author of their own story. Commonly utilized approaches include but are not limited to:  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Skills. and Solution Focused. Treatment populations I specialize in but limited to children, adults, couples, and ethnic minorities.

Gordon Miller (LCSWa)

My name is Gordon Miller. I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a master’s in social work. During my 20-year career, I have worked in both Governmental settings and the Non-Profit sector, providing advocacy for children. In the most recent years, I have spent time working with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, attempting to create positive systemic change for the children and families of North Carolina involved in the child welfare system.  I have experience working with both minority populations and those individuals impacted by adverse disparate social conditions. As a therapist, my focus is to provide psychological well-being and support for both children and families. My career goals include providing psychological wellness to marginalized populations and engaging in advocacy along with the provision of mental health services for all individuals

Angel Joiner (Bi-lingual LCSWa)

My name is Angel Joiner. I graduated from Saint Leo University with a master’s in social work. For most of my career, I have worked for non-profit organizations or government agencies providing advocacy for children. In recent years I have spent time working with law enforcement serving victims of violent crimes and individuals impacted by severe traumatic experiences related to violence. I have experience working with Latino Immigrant populations and with individuals impacted by poverty. I am bilingual and speak both English and Spanish. As a therapist, I also aim focus to on providing psychological wellness support for first responders. My career goals include providing advocacy and psychological wellness support on an international level with a focus on refugees and asylees.
